So we’re sitting having lunch, and I’m feeling that there’s still a small corner left that needs to be filled
Me: I was thinking of having some toast, do you want some?
OH: you might struggle a bit
Me: why, where has all the rest of the bread gone?
OH: …
Me: you fed it to the birds, didn’t you?
It’s a slippery slope, I tell you.

I think that he overstepped the mark there! Did you send him out to get some more?
We were going shopping anyway. But I do hate to be deprived of toast…
Me too, especially at this time of year!
If your other half goes missing, the birds look hungry and you’re caught eating toast with a smile on your face we’ll know what happened
Maybe its bait…
And if the other half goes missing and it’s the birds that are looking happy, I’ll know it’s gone too far
“Our” birds eat the cat food – occasionally the price they pay may seem a little high – but hey! our home-baked bread is way too good for the birds.
catfood? What are you feeding, eagles?
Never any bread (always home-baked) left here for the birds and anyway it’s not the best for them, fills them up with “empty” food apparently… we put out sunflower hearts (bought by the hundredweight sack – thankfully the actual purchases are few & far between).
