Pallets are ideal for fire lighting. According to a back of an envelope calculation on a solar powered calculator you should easily be able to light up to 30 fires-not of course, if you use the Guardian as well unless it is last week''s-or better still last months.
Enjoy! as those irritating waiters always insist.

Pallets can be good stuff. We used them as a base for a floor in one of the shops, just put them on the dirt and laid some free plywood on top. I also recall getting the ones from the local motorcycle dealer years ago that were mahogany and planing the wood down for various furniture projects.

My logs come in large plastic bread basket/pallet thingies which is much less fun than a real pallet. That said the wood does come pre-chopped, is free and we don't have to keep the pallet.

Pallets are heaven. Heaven. We break them apart and make - milking stands, gates, doors, chicken houses, compost heaps - and lots more every day items we haven't thought of yet.

And yes - telegraph poles make for great heating - though if they're too long, or maybe the fireplace is in the wrong place - it kinda defeats the object when one end pokes out of the door while the other end burns. Been there done that!

Pallets aren't actually very good for heating. Burn too quick. Excellent for very big bright Scout campfires, when the flames are only really for show though.

Chop it up small for kindling and axe work practice.
