I have the opposite reaction, not having grown up with E-numbers. I fine sodium nitrite less scary than E250.

yeah, sorry if anyone was reading that over breakfast. I suppose we were always told how admirable it was that the indians used every part of the buffalo; we’re less comfortable that we use every part of the pig but the squeak.

OK, so it contains exactly the same parts of the pig, the real question is, does it taste as good?
