Eventually spiders will evolve to either a) not go somewhere where I can rinse them or, more preferably b) not come anywhere near me. This would be best for both me and the spiders. It doesn’t help that my wife keeps tarantulas as pets.

As long as they stay on the ceiling. I have humongous wolf spiders in my yard — and have no problem with them as long as they stay in the yard. But if one gets in the house, pandemonium ensues.
