Andy – I bet if any play had called for the cat to be on stage, no force on earth would have made it go on
Huttonian – so far the cat hasn’t got any birds yet, as long as she confines herself to mice she’s welcome
Keiron – we’ve been trying to set a good example by not climbing on the counters ourselves, but to no avail

Our cat Tipsy now has free run of the whole house. His confinement began with no access to the living room and armchairs, then the conservatory, then definitely no going upstairs, all of which he kept ignoring, and bulldozed his way into being accepted. It’s simply a fact, that he considers himself one of us, and so naturally should have access to all areas, there’s no denying him. This is his house, he puts up with our presence in it.

We had a cat in the theatre I trained in which used to try and get on the stage during performances. As Stage Manager I often had to chuck it out again so I sympathise with your predicament.

The top half (not shown) opens – it’s her scrambling in and out that makes the mess. Though I’ve no doubt she’d bang on the window if she thought of it…

That window is outrageous. Was she banging on the window? It does put onto perspective my battle with two muddy dogs’ paws. At least they restrict themselves to the floor, well mostly..

Put a basket of neatly folded, clean washing by the window. She’s get straight in there and the rest of the house will stay clean and paw print free
