I think the pure-bred ones lay blue eggs, the crosses lay green ones. I suppose bird eggs do come in a variety of colours so it’s not that surprising

I have heard of mothers putting green food color into the scrambled eggs to get their kids to eat them, but this is the first time I’ve heard of (and seen photographic evidence of) an actual green egg. According to the website, their eggs are supposed to be blue — maybe the hen is color blind?

I have had one of those.My wifes boss has a lot of chickens, and one day while driving on one of those back roads in the west country, his son saw a chicken walking along the side of the road. They stopped and his son easily managed to catch the chicken. After they tried to find where it had come from, they took it home with them, and hey presto, it started laying green eggs.

Ps My wife told me that her boss has told her that his son can look at chickens and put them in a trance.
