Our new neighbour has a new kitten, and I encountered it on my bike coming back from getting the paper today. It is very cute, very bold, very stupid and almost exactly the same colour as the road.
This can’t end well.

did you, upon seeing said cat, exclaim “ZOMG! Kitteh!!!”? While a popular meme on the internet, especially with lol-cats, I have yet to encounter anyone who has actually ever used said phrase in the real world.
Perhaps the owner might exclaim it if the cat doesn’t learn the rules of the road pretty quickly.
Not being fifteen, I have no idea even how to pronounce it…
It’s pronounced with a kind of high-pitched apathetic whine, as most things are pronounced nowadays by the younger, less grateful generations.
I think you need to fit your bike with a “Speedhawk”-style rocket-powered jump boost. Or, the kitten does. Whichever is more practical.
Reflective collar? You can also get collars with flashing lights on!!
Hmm, I see two options:
1. Spraypaint
2. Kitty bumpers (maybe inflated floaties around midsection?)
Mike – on the whole, I think the world will be a better place if cats aren’t armed (humans too, of course)
Pinkjellybaby – and a bell, as it was eyeing up all the baby birds…
Michael – good point, although it will take more than floaties in a kitteh-vs-SUV situation…
Ceiling cat, basement cat…now traffic cat!?
Pinkjellybaby means well I’m sure but I think Disgruntled would look silly wearing a collar with flashing lights.
Also, bear in mind that one would have to run over said kitty nine times before really upsetting the neighbours, by which time aforementioned animal might, just might, have discovered the concept of evasive action. It’s almost worth the effort in the interests of science!
we have five cats, and on the whole humans will come of worst when having encounters with them, so be very carefull out there.
John
sorry, that should be come off worst.
Gawd, there’s nothing like posting about kittens on the internet, is there?
