Neighbours, everybody needs new Neighbours…

My excitement knows no bounds – we have a new neighbour.

And yes, I did just happen to spend all of yesterday gardening out the front so I could casually bump into her, why do you ask? Apart from anything else, the internet was down for most of the day and I had to have something to keep me amused.

And besides, the garden needed doing. Honest.

Perhaps this is the cause of your frustration – who says the London Olympics won’t have any effect outside the M25? 🙂

  2. I’ve just had a flash back to how it feels to be ‘the new neighbour’!

  3. disgruntled says:

paperboy – possibly not, as that seems to have been confined to East London
UHDD – were they all just sort of ‘hanging around’ to have a look at you? Not that I was doing anything like that, of course…

  4. PaperBoy says:

It wiped at least 2 ISPs out completely and several others were affected (but not completely wiped off the interweb)

  5. disgruntled says:

Oh right, didn’t notice that bit. Could be then. It seems to be back to normal now

  6. PaperBoy says:

NDO/Namesco was the most prominently mentioned (some bloke in Aberdeenshire moaning about them as well), some Entanet customers too. Didn’t pay too much attention because it was a message I shouldn’t have seen in the first place…

So how is the new neighbour?

  7. I was invited for morning coffee, cakes napkins the works, the hostess turned out to be a not the best neighbour I’ve ever had, but others who lived in the road became like family.

  8. and…and….did you meet her?

  9. disgruntled says:

yes, but I seem to have missed a trick by not laying on a proper tea with cakes, napkins and the works. It’s so much more straightforward in London where you can just ignore everyone…

    Not a ‘Neighbours’ fan!
It’s never too late, you could take a casserole around.
Oh when new neighbours become new friends.

  11. Miss Mary says:

Seems to me that not too long ago you and your other half were the new neighbors. Perhaps you meet the new neighbors in the name of “character development.” You could use a quirk or two in your next book.

  12. disgruntled says:

midwife muse – for a non neighbours fan, you seem awfully familiar with the theme tune…
Miss Mary – too true. Our old neighbour was well provided in the quirk department … hopefully the new one will be less so

  13. midwifemuse says:

Hubby has a secret vice, he watches neighbours. I acquire it subliminally!

  14. disgruntled says:

    not secret any more…

  15. PaperBoy says:

Crikey! Stop the presses at the News of the World – Wacky Jacqui might be able to hide behind that revelation 😉

  16. […] Sadly, among all the other things we know about him is the fact that he doesn’t have a cat, so the cat-shaped hole will go unfilled. And obviously, I definitely won’t be spending most of tomorrow just happening to be gardening out the front as he moves in… […]
